SCAR Patch Notes - 3/9/2025
Hotfixes since last patch (these are posted in our Discord, join it to see them when they're posted!):
We added a clarification about how you can not use multiple types of Boosts on a single roll!
We had an oversight and forgot to specify that the Vigor Overcharge and Willpower Overcome can only be used once per roll.
It was pointed out I accidentally indicated that Skills were listed in the table as cost 10 XP x Dot, this was incorrect, they are 5 XP x Dot you're going to!
Sorry I'm so late on this one!
Page 12 - Now if you roll a Botch (a negative result) and do not attempt to modify it in any way, you get a bonus Boost Die! I've also updated some of the terminology and clarified that you can utilize Assist with Skills other than what the main person is using, but you'll need to make a case for it. I also forgot to say that you can share Boost, Vigor, and Willpower with it!
Page 40 - The Jack of All Trades and Master of None Feats have been moved to Ability Feats. Also, the Type Affinity Feat now works off of a scaling cost. It's cheaper and gets more expensive the more you have!
Page 42 - It's Just a Flesh Wound now specifies it prevents Wounds.
Page 53 - We have standardized Equipment Tiers (removing it from being in the Armor section) and expanded it to a total of 6 tiers (not including Legendary) to provide a more fluid range of upgrades.
Page 55 - Clarified how Skill Penalties apply to armor!
**MAJOR** Page 64 - We have added rules for Crafting!
Page 68 - We have finally added rules for having more than 2 Movement Types!
Page 73 - We modified how Held Actions work
Page 74 - The Cleanse Maneuver had a significant overhaul. Including you can now use Cleanse even if the action has been disabled!
Page 75 - We reworded and reworked Combos and how they work.
Page 76 - We reworked the Movement Maneuver and removed the antiquated wording that limited you to only 30 feet per turn.
Page 84 - We added rules for Surprise Rounds! You can now ambush your foes and get proper benefits from it!
Page 85 - We have moved rules for Healing Over Time here and standardized them. We also put in that botching a Heal check can deal damage instead!
Pages 95 & 100 - We have changed the cost of the Two and Three Stage Stat Change Traits. They are now Attribute limited and their cost is equal to the Stat Change they are tied to. In addition, we have removed the Temporary Stat Change Traits and instead put in rules saying that the Storyteller can grant discounts on this.
Page 123 - Blind's wording has been updated and we have a new Intensity III since Difficulty can only go up to a maximum of +/-3 now
**MAJOR** Page 141 - We have noted that enemy HP does NOT have to equal their Attributes! Storytellers are encouraged to adjust the HP of enemies, especially bosses!
**MAJOR** Page 142-3 - Experience has received a major overhaul. Now Storytellers are encouraged to give it out each session and on a sliding scale of 1-20 XP per session. Also, Merits should be given out at a rate of 1-5 per session. Be generous with XP, there's a LOT to spend it on!
