SCAR Patch Notes - 10/9/2025

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

A well-informed and well-prepared wizard is truly a force to be reckoned with.

All that to say, we know there have been infrequent updates, but we have been brewing those spells, so prepare you wizards, witches, and casters with sugar daddies, we bring you MAGIC!

Other Patch Notes first:

Page 19 - Added clarification that if you take a Feat that isn't the normal price at character creation, it impacts your Starting XP.

Page 30 - We added an explanation for how to handle restrictions for various abilities, such as only being able to Teleport from one shadow to another, and what sort of discounts to give there.

Page 35 - Added rules for Repeat Specialties!

Page 51 - Added the Tele-Sense Feat as a counter to teleportation effects.

Page 52 - Added the Primeval Leadership Feat for the new Leadership Primeval Feature.

Page 55 - Added the Far Breeze Feat to allow you to use Shared Breeze further away. Also clarified Shared Breeze requires a touch.

Page 63 - Armor Stats have finally been moved over to the main document!

Page 66 - Weapon Stats have also finally been moved over to the main document!

Page 79 - Minion information has been added! So you can have hirelings or undead or so on!

**MAJOR** Page 90 - Attacks of Opportunity have been changed to Actions of Opportunity! They still function the same except for one important thing: You can now trigger an AoO from your allies! So your allies can instead take the opportunity to give you a firm slap on the rump and shout an encouraging "Go get em tiger!" as you run past them and give you a buff, heal, or whatever they may choose to do to (hopefully) help you before you get dismembered by the hoard of skeletons you just charged into alone!

(I also realized we never actually specified what you can do with an AoO, this has been fixed!)

Page 95 - We clarified rules regarding how you may ignore Traits on Weapons, Spells, Moves, and other abilities in order to use them at a lower capacity.

**MAJOR** Page 98 & Page 147 - We have updated the Death & Downs section a bit to bring them in line with the clarified rules for the Injured Condition! So make sure you're familiar with those!

**MAJOR** Page 125 - We bring you the Leadership Primeval Feature now! This may also be known as the Minion Master. This Feature gives you ways to upgrade your Minions (whatever they may be) as well as to Command and provide tactical assistance to them and your allies in the heat of battle.

**SUPER MAJOR** Now for Magic. First off, be aware that all of this is HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL. All of it is very likely to be changed in the future. That said, please help us test it and give feedback!

Page 19 - There are some new adjustments for Character Creation in place. This is simply letting new players know about the new Skills and giving some additional Skill dots and XP.

Page 69 - We've added a Specialized Tools section for describing unique things such as Catalysts and Vessels for Primeval Magic!

**MAJOR** Page 115 - This is the primary location where Magic information is found! We do have the various Words on a separate document for now, this system is highly experimental.
